Payyambalam Beach 

Just 2 kilometres away from Kannur town, the conveniently located Payyambalam beach is a large stretch of golden sand frilled by coconut greenery.This favorite hangout for locals is the best known of all Kannur beaches.Usually the beach is not so crowded. However, it can get busy during evenings and weekends. The good news is that the fine sandy stretch is quite long that you can always find secluded spots.You can avail of this guided experience of around 10 minutes, anytime between 10am to 5pm. Be kilted with safety jackets. As you head into the waters of the Arabian Sea witness the scenery unfold before your eyes. Watch the great sea merge into the horizon. You also get a great view of the nearby park which has a beautiful sculpture of a Mother and Child installed in the centre. Head back refreshed with this short and sweet boat tour.

Activities:

Para Sailing and Water Skiing are conducted by the Tourism Council. The charges are nominal. These activities are scaled back during rainy season when the sea is rough.

The beach is good for swimming and sunbathing.
