1)The Sri Krishna Temple:

The Sri Krishna Temple is located at Ambalapuzha, the temple is just 14 km away from Alleppey. It is one of the most popular temples of the state with the classic temple architectural style of Kerala. It is equally renowned for its Palpayasam, sweet milk porridge.

2)Pathiramanal

Pathiramanal is a striking small island on the Vembanad Lake only reachable by means of a boat. It is set to be developed as a major tourist spot in Alleppey.. You can reach there after 1 1/2 hours drive by motor boat or 30 minutes by speed boat from Alappuzha in south Kerala. Surrounded by the Vembanad Lake, stretching from Alappuzha to Kochi and the Kayamkulam lake, Pathiramanal is accessible only by boat.The green island thus forms an ideal place for a break in the journey while on a backwater cruise.The mainland Alappuzha has a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers criss crossing it and is a district of immense natural beauty.

3)Alleppey Beach

Known as the Venice of the East, Alappuzha has always basked a major place in the maritime history of Kerala. 4)Krishnapuram Palace

Krishnapuram Palace is one of the most captivating attractions of the region. It was built by the Travancore king, Marthanda Varma, in the 18th century. It is a two-storied building crafted in the traditional Kerala architectural style. The gabled roofs, dormer windows and narrow corridors give it an amazing facade. The palace is mainly known for its wall paintings as well as its beautiful architecture. One of the biggest wall paintings in all of Kerala is placed in Alleppey. It is known as the Gajendra Moksham, which literally means “The redemption of the elephant”. This palace is a superb piece of architecture and has been transformed to a museum that houses many historic sculptures, canvas and bronze antiques. Presently, it has been taken over by the archaeological department of India for proper maintenance and care.
