Experience enchanting beauty of nature in Shendurney and the name of the sanctuary owes to the endemic tree species of the sanctuary which locally named ‘Chenkurinji’ (Gluta travacorica) due its red coloured wood. The sanctuary lies in the western part of the Agasthyamala Biosphere reserve and having an extent of 172.403 Sq.km.
The sanctuary offers several kinds of ecotourism activities like trekking ( walking ) and camping programmes.
