Thekkady is a place of numerous excitements situated in the western ghats, located near the Kerala and Tamil Nadu border . The sanctuary is famous for its tigers.It is also home to herd of elephants, gaur, deer and bear.The Periyar sanctuary is spread over 777 Sqkm, has awesome landscapes, hills, greeneries, and a large quantity of aquifer in store. This is home for rare species of animals reptiles , birds and cradle of rarest flora and fauna.Boating in the lake which is the reservoir of Mullapperiyar Dam surrounded by evergreen forests is the key attraction of Thekkady. This gives innumerable feeling of enjoying wildlife very closely in their own natural habitat.Trekking inside the evergreen forests is also another attraction.Being a place of responsible tourism giving at most care for the preservation of nature-everything in and around this sanctuary is being closely monitored and regulated by the department of Forests,Kerala Government.

Periyar National Park

The periyar National park spread over the shore of Periyar Lake ( Better known as Mullla Periyar Dam) built by Britishers, to fulfill the water requirements of three districts of Tamil Nadu. The lake is famous for boating inside the sanctuary enjoying wildlife very closely at a safer distance in their natural environment.The fine hills acts like a geographical boundary between the sates of Kerala and Tamilnadu. These Hill tops give amazing view of the landscapes of Tamil Nadu.

Suruli Water Falls

Suruli Hills are the part of Pothigai Malai, located in Tamil Nadu. The place is famous for its waterfalls and caves. It has a two stage cascading of water one from 150 ft and another from 40 ft. The Suruli River is starting from Meghamalai Mountain, people believes this water has some medicinal properties. The place is filled with dense forest. Buses will be available from near town Cumbum.
