Marayoor, which means ‘The hidden land’ is situated Idukki District located 40 Kms from Munnar and 35 Kms from Udumalpet in Tamil Nadu is encircled by a fortress of mountains. Marayoor is famous for its Natural growth of Sandal wood forests and Marayoor Jaggery. Marayur belongs to the famous Anchunad ( Five land) villages namely Keezhanthoor, Karayoor, Kanthalloor, Marayoor and Kottakudi in which Kottakudi is situated in Tamil nadu.This land is encircled by National Parks and Sanctuaries like Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, Eravikulam Natioanl Park, Shola National Park , Marayoor Sandal Division and Anaimudi Tiger Reserve (TN).
